SOBBA

RACIDS Agriculture consults with SOBBA management team, directors and trains the production team on prudent agricultural business development and financial management. The visit was conducted by RACIDS managing director Simon Kimani (see profile on website: www.racids.org). This training and assistance was held at SOBBA Corporate office located at 23 Percival Street Freetown, and ended on final day with a tour of SOBBA’s farm and seed store. Mr. Kimani also visited SOBBA's auditors and discussed financial and auditing processes and the need for a robust financial management and accounting system to be instituted and monitored on an continuous basis.  During the visit Mr. Kimani covered prudent agricultural business practices using tools that will enable SOBBA to streamline its financial practices and strengthen internal controls that will in becoming a prudent financial business.  

SOBBA’s Managing Director made a PowerPoint presentation giving an overview of SOBBA Initiative, the journey, the challenges, growth, future focus and seed market in Sierra Leone in general.  The Finance and Business Development Manager made a presentation on the SOBBA future plans that have been well thought out and if realized, the company will be a key player in seed sector in the near future.
